About Me

Hi, I’m Shannon and I am 24 years old.

I have Cystic Fibrosis and Type 1 Diabetes.

Like most 21-year-olds, I have hobbies and things that I like to do. I enjoy photography, writing, reading, watching movies and YouTube videos, listening to music, watching musicals and being around friends.

I am slowly working on becoming a professional photographer. I have some equipment and some experience but so far not many clients. Hopefully, this will change soon and who knows? Maybe you'll see my work on the cover of Vogue one day! I like to photograph people. I recently did a couple of projects on invisible illnesses which I enjoyed. In the future, I would love to work in theatre or on film and television sets as a photographer.

I enjoy writing and thinking up little stories. I've started work on books before but I always get sidetracked with a new idea! I'll probably publish it for free online as I'm very unlikely to have the guts (or money!) to try and publish it in book form! I love to read books and I'm asked what genre I enjoy a lot, but the truth is I'll read anything as long as it isn't scary! My favourite books I've read in recent years include the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy by Kevin Kwan, the Miss Peregrines books by Ransom Riggs and Eclipsed by Dominic Holland.

I'm also asked what movie genre I like most but once again I'll watch anything as long as it's not too scary! Some of my favourite films are the Marvel Cinematic Universe series (I love Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther!), Crazy Rich Asians (I hope they make the full trilogy!), Parasite, and literally any and all movie musicals.

No one ever asks what music genres I like, it's pretty obvious to most people that know me. I listen to musical theatre cast albums, with a healthy sprinkle of Queen, One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer and Little Mix. You might think I'm joking but I literally listen to nothing else! My favourite cast albums are Billy Elliot, Newsies, Legally Blonde, The Phantom of The Opera, and Bonnie & Clyde.

This blog exists to raise awareness for CF and Diabetes, but it's also a place for me to talk about my favourite things. Some blog posts will connect with YouTube videos that I create, you can check out my channel here or you can find it on the "Contact Me" page.
